What is the seventh day? Which one is the seventh day? It is interesting to see than in France where i am from all calendars end the week at sunday. In America the calendars end some on sunday, some calendars on saturday. Which is the seventh day? The Bible says in Exodus 20:8-12 That the seventh day is the sabbath. Which day did the Jews keep for thousands of years?
Exodus 20 8-11 'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.'
If you look up the word Sabbath or seventh day in most if not all encyclopaedias you will find that it will say
Seventh day = Saturday
Sabbath = Saturday
So we know that the seventh day is saturday. Now why is there more than one billion christian keeping sunday instead of saturday? Was the sabbath only for the Jews? No. In fact the first Jew who ever lived was Abraham. Abraham was not a Jew by birth. The Bible says that Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldans. The Chaldeans are Babylonians. Interesting to see that Abraham was from the land of the Babylonians! Amazing. Abraham lived around 2000 B.C. God gave the commandments to Adam and Eve already, so people on earth kept the sabbath for 2000 years before the first Jew. Interesting!
This proves that the sabbath was not given to the Jews only but to the human race in general Jew and gentiles.
Mark 2:27,28 'And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.'
Jesus said that the sabbath was made for man and not for the Jews only.
Isaiah 66;22 23 tells us that everyone in heaven will keep the sabbath:
'For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. '
But you say 'We do not have to keep the 10 Commandments anymore they were done away at the cross. ' Do yo have Scripture for that? Where does it say that in the Bible. The law nailed to the cross. No Paul was speaking about the Levetical law if you look closely at the context.
Colosians 2:14 'Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.' The ordinances that Paul is talking about are not the ten commandments. Which was nailed to the cross is the law which was pointing to Jesus. In the book of Leviticus we have prescriptions to kill lambs each time someone sinned. When Jesus came and died on the cross, people who had faith in Jesus as God Almighty taking their sins on Him, did not have to kill lambs anymore. The Divine antitype had come and consumed the sacrifice.
But what about not keeping sabbath days?
If we continue to read Colosians 2:
Colosians 2:16,17 'Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ..'
Isn't this verse talking about the sabbath day? No it says sabbath days, then it explains, 'Which were a shadow of thins to come' The weekly sabbath is not a shadow of things to come, when Jesus died because the weekly sabbath is a sign of creation. Wanting to eliminate the sabbath is like wanting to eliminate creation. It is impossible.
Theses sabbath days were annual feasts which fell on all days of the week: Monday, wenesday ect...
Leveticus 23:24,25 'Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.'
A sabbath which fell on an day of the week.
These sabbath days were to be kept besides the weekly and eternal sabbath day. Paul in his letters speaks often of the leveitical law, like circumcision, and not eating meat sacrificed to idols and such like things. Because the Jews still believed that they had to keep the Old Testament requirement. But they were not under such requirements as Jesus just had died on the cross.
But didn't Paul say that the law was a schoolmaster pointing to Jesus?
Galatians 3:25 'But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.'
The key passage and if you want to find explanation to difficult Bible passages a good book is Joe Crews Answers to difficult Bible texts by Joe Crews, is After faith is come. What happened before the Apostle Paul found faith? Paul and any Jew were under the law.
They had to kill a lamb everytime they sinned, they had to go to all the Jewish feasts ect...
But when faith in Jesus came he was no longer under the school master and no longer under the law because his sins were taken by Jesus and he was no more condemned.
Does that mean that Paul said that we did not have to keep the ten commandments? No.
Romans 7: 12-14 'Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.'
No not being condemned by the law and not being under the requirement of the levetical law does not mean that the ten commandments are done away with. All people will be judged by the ten commandments.
James 2:12 'So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.'
'But did Jesus keep the sabbath and apostles?'
Luke 4:16 'And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.'
Jesus kept the sabbath all his life.
Acts 18:4 'And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks Jesus, Paul and all the apostles kept the sabbath all their lives. In the verse above you can see that Paul kept the sabbath even in pagan cities where he was preaching to the Greeks.
Who first kept sunday?
All christians kept the sabbath until 321 when the emperor Constantine made the first sunday law.
What? Every christian kept the sabbath three centuries after Jesus? Yes. Incredible. 'But how come most christians do not know that?' This knowledge is kept from them in their churches.
The papacy agrees that she is responsible for the change of sabbath to sunday, and Catholic theologians say that as Catholics they have the right to add to the Scriptures the traditions.
But we know that no one can add to the Bible:
Revelation 22:18 'testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.'
The Catholic Cardinal Gibbons, in Faith of Our Fathers, pg. 111, said, "You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we (The Roman Catholic Church) never sanctify.
The Catholic Mirror (a publication by Cardinal Gibbons) Sept. 2, 1893- "...the Redeemer, during His mortal life, never kept any other day than Saturday."
Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine Third Edition"1). Question: Which is the Sabbath day? "Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day. 2). "Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?"Answer. "We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea, transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."
Part three of 'The seventh day' documentary talks about different christians in the middle ages who kept the fourth of the ten commandments, the sabbath. famous prophecies, prophecy seminar, book of revelation online,

Jim Arrabito set out then to produce a broadcast-quality documentary videos like: the church in the wilderness, the history of the Jesuits, maybe on sunday, 666 and the mark, the lost pages of history, lectures on creation, 3rd world war, aims of the papacy, for the general public to guide people to Christ, identifying the sign of God's true church. famous prophecies, prophecy seminar, book of revelation online,
The original prediction that under the thirrd Angel's message the Sabbath which is the the fourth of the ten commandments would be proclaimed with power gave need for a world-girdling study to confirm the truth of the Biblical Sabbath in all the world in all ages from the beginning of time. Four and half years of research later, with thousands of slides, hundreds of hours of movie film and video tape, the necessary material for use in a broadcast documentary was substantially completed.
Then, without warning, tragedy struck! On September 2, 1990, while returning from a photography trip in Alaska, Jim and two of his sons (Tony and Joey) were killed in a plane crash which also took the lives of the pilot and a young missionary from New Zealand.
This tragic accident has not stopped or diminished the vision and progress of this project. Like the Sabbath-keeping people through the ages, the torch has simply been passed along to those who remain.
