The Jews were in captivity in Babylon and when king Cyrius came to power of the medes and eprsians, the nation of Israel could go back to rebuild the city and the walls of Jerusalem which were destroyed when Nebuchadnezzar came to besiage the city! The temple of Jerusalem was one of the wonders of the world. The building and construction was fully designed by God, every detail, every instrument and material was given in complete exactness for this house where the glory would dwell in!
A non Jew did not have the right to enter the temple, in fact there was a sign at the entrance of the temple that said that such a prson could be killed. Daily sacrifices for sin were executed in the temple in Jerusalem. If ayone sinned they had to bring a lamb of according to the degree of sin and the priest would give a knife to the sinner and he had to slay the innocent animal with the knife. Then the priest would take the blood of the lamb and put it on the altar in te temple! In the book of Hebrews, it talks about the temple in Heaven of which the temple in Jerusalem was only an image. Jesus is right now in the most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary, interciding for your sins and mine! Jesus ever lives to make intercession for you and me! Judgment has started in 1844 when Jesus passed from the holy place to the most holy place in the heavenly sanctuary! Re 14: 'fear God and give glory to Him for the hour of His judgment has come' When will this investigative judgment end? No one knows.
