All videos -Jean calvin 2 - /Documentaries about the life and teachings of John Calvin. Jean calvin originaly from Noyon, a citywhich is one hour north of Paris. Jean Calvin went to law school in Paris and was very much into the catholic faith, until one day during the wars of religion in France which raged for a few hundred years betwen Catholics and protestants, Jean Calvin saw in the streets of Paris a Hugenot being burned at the stake. This amazing event made Jean Calvin think about the reason why someone would be ready to die for love of Jesus. And why some people who claim themselves christians would kill someone for the only reason to believe the bible! If the papacy leadership was really christian, then they would accept the Hugenots and be friends with them in worshiping Jesus. And why would God have one bible and two churches? If there is one bible, then there is only one truth! When you have two churches then one of them must be wrong and some of their beliefs are not in the bible, because the bible is law. The bible is like the law that says that you have to stop at the red light. You could have two groups of people. One group says that you have to stop at the red light. The other group says that you could stop at the red light but it is not obligatiry. Only one group is following what the law says! The bible is exactly the same. The bible does not have two teachings one a particular subject. If the bible says Jesus is God, then Jesus is God! So Calvin started to receive the reformed faith. Jean Calvin, a mighty thinker, Jean Calvin could be one of the most intellectual christian writer ever! Very much in the veins of Paul the apostle! Jean Calvin's cousin urged him to accept the reformed faith of the Hugenots. Calvin told him 'are you telling me i was in error all these years?' After accepting the refomed faith Calvin went to Margueritte de Navarre's land. Margueritte de Navarre is the mother of Henri 4 the only Hugenot king of france who in reality said he recanted to become king. She lived in the south of France in a land mostly populated by Hugenots. And still today if you go to Cevennes, Vivarais, Drome area there are many Hugenot churches all over the small and beautiful cities! Jean Calvin fled Paris because of the persecution to Navarre and wrote: one of Jean Calvin's greatest work is 'l'institution de la religion chrétienne'. Jean Calvin went back to Paris, but amazing persecution was happening against reformers, and Hugenots, Jean Calvin then fled to Geneva Switzerland which bacame the reformer's capital who received thousand of persecuted Hugenots, Waldenses and reformped christiand through the centuries! n,jesus christ sauve, évangile selon jésus christ, mission chrétienne, jesus christ sauve, évangile selon jésus christ, mission chrétienne, jesus christ sauve, évangile selon jésus christ, mission chrétienne, |
